Have you been hurt at work in Maryland? If so, then you likely have received, will receive or should receive workers' compensation. Did you know that you can also try to seek compensation for your pain and suffering, medical costs and other needs that aren't covered? A new tool has recently been released that may help you show exactly how injured you've become thanks to your job; a diagnostics company now has a way to show the "before and after" of your injuries, allowing you to better state your case.
Workplace injuries can happen due to repetitive motions, sudden falls or other problems in the workplace, and now Emerge Diagnostics can better show just how injured you are. The company works to show how hurt employees are with a series of before-and-after medical tests, and that allows you to show how injured you are in comparison to your previous state of health. This could help companies by lowering costs in cases where employees aren't badly hurt, but for those who are, you can also make the argument that you'll be able to prove just how serious your injury is. According to a UC Davis researcher, the annual cost of workplace injuries and illnesses is a shocking $250 billion around the nation. The company, EmergeDx, will only be working with soft-tissue injuries, but with the equipment can show how a person's range of motion, functionality and condition changes over time. The company claims that its information allows companies to discover who is bluffing their injuries and also makes it easier to find those who are seriously injured. The equipment provided by EmergeDx won't be sold to companies, but instead, EmergeDx will complete assessments as contractors and by placing devices in nearby occupational health clinics.
