Cranes fall for a number of reasons

Most people who work in the construction industry realize that accidents can and do happen every now and again. Unfortunately, some accidents are extremely serious, often leading to injury or death.

When a crane falls from height, anybody working on the equipment or standing below is at risk of serious injury.

Crane collapses happen for many reasons, all of which need to be taken into consideration by employers and operators. First things first, using a crane in high wind or other less than ideal weather is a big risk. Despite the fact that companies need to stay on track in regards to their schedule, doing so in inclement weather is a bad idea.

Secondly, crane operators don't always have the training they need to handle the equipment in the appropriate manner. For example, cranes have changed for the better over the years. That being said, some operators have not kept up with the times. These people know how to operate older cranes, but fall short with regard to the most modern equipment.

Last, but certainly not least, construction site distractions can lead to a crane accident.

In many parts of the United States, construction is on the rise. This is particularly true in big cities, such as Baltimore and New York City. While it's good to know that the construction industry is booming, it's a shame that crane accidents keep happening.

When people are injured in such an accident, they may not be able to return to work for a very long time, if at all. Furthermore, it can lead to a complex legal battle.
