Many car accidents could be prevented if people were more cautious about how they drive. The problem with some drivers is that they don’t consider the potential for serious accidents. If someone gets behind the wheel drunk, this individual may not think about the fact that he or she could be injured or hurt others because of one’s intoxication. Fortunately, those who are injured can speak with their attorneys and can potentially make a claim for compensation.
A man who had already been convicted of a driving under the influence charge has become the alleged cause of a nine-car collision in Maryland. According to the news reports, it was around 9 a.m. when the accident took place on Route 202 near Lottsford Road.
The reports state that a 53-year-old woman had been driving her GMC when a Chevy Silverado driven by a 34-year-old man collided with her vehicle. The collision forced the two vehicles into seven others, with one of the vehicles, a pickup truck, going airborne and colliding with vehicles that were stopped at a red light.
The 53-year-old woman was trapped in her vehicle after the collision, and she was extricated in critical condition. She was taken to the hospital, but she passed away from her injuries.
The shock of the story was that the 34-year-old man had been driving with a suspended license, and he had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to turn up at a DUI charge hearing in 2014. He was hospitalized following the collision, and upon his release, he was taken to jail.
