The Maryland State Police have reported a serious accident on Westbound Route 50 as residents evacuate. Many motorists who had been using the highway as an evacuation route were detoured earlier in the day as a result of the car accident. The highway has now reopened and many residents of Ocean City are again using it as an evacuation route.
A two-car crash in Columbia sent a Howard County police officer to the hospital earlier this week.
