4-vehicle crash results in injuries, 1 death in Maryland

Traffic accidents involving multiple vehicles can leave multiple families with injuries, hurt loved ones and deaths to deal with. When an accident is caused due to neglect, there's always the possibility that it won't just involve the driver in error. He may hit one car, two cars or cause a chain reaction that ends up causing multiple collisions.

That kind of issue happened in Maryland recently when a young man driving a truck crossed the center line of the highway and struck a woman's vehicle. The story reports that the 34-year-old woman was killed when the driver, who was in a Ford F-250, hit the woman's vehicle head-on.

After striking the woman's vehicle, the man's truck rolled over several times. He was fortunately wearing his safety belt, and he survived the incident with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but she later died.

During the time when the truck was rolling over, the man's vehicle also struck a Kia Sorento. The woman in the Sorento had to be hospitalized for minor injuries. Another vehicle, a Suburu Forester, was struck by debris from the collision, and this resulted in the man crashing. He was not injured, reports verified.

While no report has been completed stating the reason for this accident, it's important to note that there had been a number of crashes the same morning thanks to slick road conditions. The 19-year-old man driving the truck may have been a victim of the weather, but the Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate and will report on the reason behind the crash at a later time.

The at-fault driver can be held liable by the family of the victim who died and by the injured victims. Medical expenses, funeral expenses, lost wages and much more can be claimed through a civil lawsuit.
